#Tweetgasm – Pretty In Pink
#TweetGasmTO is the Gladstone Hotel’s monthly social media meetup, hosted by @GladstoneHotel, @TweetgasmTO and people from the Gladstone’s social media community.
This month’s event was organized by @photojunkie and was themed Pretty in Pink, with the upcoming Pride Toronto 2011 celebrations in mind. I shot a quick video during my brief stop there, and @pshag & @phjoshua did a nice job of explaining what it was all about.

DJ Jeff Button & Com Truise
Com Truise is the creator of the very specific genre of electronic music, “mid-fi synth-wave slow-motion funk”. He’s releasing a new album called Galactic Melt on June 14th, and stopped in Toronto to play a show at Wrongbar on June 4th.
I’m not a big fan of the night life, but when I heard Com Truise was coming to Toronto to play a show at Wrongbar, I couldn’t hesitate. Then I heard that local DJ Jeff Button, creator of the Dig Deep Podcast was playing one of his signature Nu-Disco House sets at The Social, right down the street! It worked out perfectly because Jeff played his set immediately before Com Truise was scheduled to take the stage a few doors down. It was an amazing night out with two of my current favourite music acts, both of which I had the pleasure to shake hands with personally. Miniature Train Derailment
On our way to Real Sports one Sunday afternoon in Fall 2010, @pshag and I happened upon the aftermath of a derailment at the Roundhouse Park Miniature Railway.

Adventures in Kitchener
On the evening of November 24, 2010 I drove out to Kitchener, Ontario to meet up with @TAYLORJONEZ and @jurego to attend the Stratford stop of Scott Stratten’s UnMarketing Book Tour.
Before we headed out to Stratford, @TAYLORJONEZ give me a quick tour of Kitchener’s Communitech Hub where we encountered a 3-D virtual reality experience, and that’s all we can really tell you about it.
Once we made it to Stratford, I didn’t end up recording any video of Scott Stratten, because I was too busy listening to him speak. We all had a great time, and learned a thing or two about how marketing really isn’t effective without engaging.
After that we headed over to CJIQ @ Conestoga College where @jurego @xoradioxo and @T3HJORD4N co-host Pull the Plug, an all-acoustic radio show which plays every Wednesday night between 10pm and 1am. They were talking about the new Harry Potter movie during the movie segment, and pretty much spoiled the first half of it for anyone who hasn’t watched it. Me, I couldn’t have cared less, as I’m not into Harry Potter at all.
